With March Madness starting this week, The Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport, at the University of Central Florida released “Keeping Score When It Counts: Graduation Rates for 2010 NCAA Men’s Divsion I Basketball Tournament Teams.” This study compares the overall graduation rates of white and Black student-athletes. The study found that:

Universities need to start valuing Black athlete-students for more than just their free-throw averages.
